SCHINDLER RESEARCH GROUP

Most members of our group became interested in science at a very young age due to the influence of a talented and enthusiastic teacher or mentor. We want to pass this interest on to the next generation of young scientists. Currently, we participate in two outreach programs that aim to appeal to elementary school (FEMMES) and high school students (MMSS). We teach them about different areas of science and chemistry during day camps throughout the year.

We are impressed with how much excitement for science can be generated with a dewar full of liquid nitrogen ice cream and a hammer to smash frozen roses into countless little pieces!
